Edition number 7 - January 2010

We wish everyone in the club a Happy New Year.
ASA Registration
It is necessary for every swimmer who enters A/B/C graded Meets, Open Meets, County, Regional and National Meets to have Category 2 Registration. In 2010 all swimmers in Junior Elite and Elite Squads must have this, plus any other swimmers who are not in those training squads but wish to compete.
If you have not already done so, you need to complete a blue form, available from Christine, and pay the fee of £22.50 before you make any entries. The Yorkshire Competition entries are due in to Steve Berry in January so please make sure you are registered. Having your ASA number from your ASA membership card is not enough!
The ASA provides rankings for swimmers at these meets so you can tell where you are against swimmers from all over the country.
Swimming in these meets without Category 2 registration puts other swimmers in the club in jeopardy. Any Halifax medal winners may lose their medals and other swimmers can be prevented from entering further competitions if only one swimmer competes without the correct registration. If you are not sure please ask Christine.
Gala entries
By now you should have received your copy of the gala rules for 2010. If not please ask at the table on Thursday.
Until we can find someone to take control of this vital part of the new gala system, gala entries can be made at the main table on Thursday nights. There will only be one sheet for each group and remember you can only enter on these sheets. Notice of group allocation will be displayed on the notice boards as soon as possible. You can also find out as you register for Gala 1.
The closing date for entries will be 28th January. No late entries will be accepted. For future galas you will have three weeks only for entries.
