ASA membership.
URGENT
If you have not received your ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) registration card with your unique ASA number please see Christine as soon as possible. The card is white and the size of a credit card. All swimmers and helpers should be registered.
Some people seem not to have returned their forms (green or yellow) and therefore do not appear on the ASA lists. Any gala results will not be included in the rankings.

Gala 4
The results are now on the website. You will notice Gareth has included a grade beside each time for all those children over the age of 9. This helps you when deciding which graded external galas to enter.
Congratulations to Eloise Murray and Joshua Mathias who move to the Silver group and to Kiara Baillie who moves to Gold.
Jackie Warner will be selling certificates for the Race award winners

Gala 5
Entries for gala 5 should be made by Thursday 15th September.

Landtraining
Landtraining starts again this week. There is no landtraining during the main school holidays – Christmas, Easter and summer. In future I will try to remember to issue a reminder of the closure dates.

Farewell
Sophie, our assistant coach, will be leaving the club on 15th September to go to Nottingham University to study journalism. We wish her well with her studies and thank her for all the time and effort she has given in supporting the swimmers at our club. I’m sure she will not forget us and we may well see her in the holidays.
Anna Sutcliffe is heading for Cambridge to study Law. Thomas Howson is going to St Andrew’s university to study Maths. Thank you both for the time you have given to the club. We wish you well for the future. Come back when you can.

Assistant coach
Julie Beaumont will extend her duties as assistant coach by taking both sessions on alternate Mondays as well as coaching on Thursdays and Fridays.
Julie is a Masters swimmer and competes regularly so knows what it is all about.

Teacher wanted
We are seeking a level 2 teacher with an interest in coaching to be part of the coaching team on Friday nights. If you know someone who would be able to fill this position please let me know.

Advance notice.
From the beginning of next year, swimmers in the silver group will have the opportunity to get times for all 200m events. The Long Term Athlete Development information from the ASA states that 9 year olds should not be competing at 100m events unless they have a relevant 200m time.
100m events will continue to be available for the Gold group.

Raffle prizes
If you have any unwanted gifts, which can be used for raffle prizes, please give them to Michelle Thornton.

Rotherham Meet and Teaspoons Meet.
Please remember to ask Gareth who will be on poolside and get their phone number in case you can’t get there.
