Yorkshires Weekend 1: report

The first weekend of the Yorkshires has been a success ensuring 5 Halifax swimmers ended up in a final or with a medal.

Aliya Bacakoglu came away from the weekend after achieving 2 gold medals in both the 100 Back and 100 Fly, taking almost a second off her fly time!

Other finalists included:

  • Charlie Kershaw: 100 Breast – 8th place
  • Matthew Greidanus: 100 Breast – 6th place
  • Lewis Wainwright: 200 Fly – 5th place
  • Robbie Abbott: 200 Fly – 6th place

Also of note, Tom Sandford claimed 1st reserve in the 100 breast in his age group. There were some fantastic swims that led to Halifax making a great impression from the first mark. With 13 swimmers having times, everyone did the club proud and we look forward to seeing even more finalists and great times next weekend as well.
